Final Day in Paris 🙁

It’s our last day in Paris. So bittersweet. We miss home and family but are having such a great time, we don’t want it to end. It’s another beautiful sunshiny day. We’ve been told numerous times the weather has been unusually warm and sunny for this time of year. Such a blessing!
We had breakfast at the hotel. Croissants, etc. Actually they’ve had a grain free bread the last couple of days that is really good. I would love to have the recipe
Oh where do I begin to pack up this stuff?
Looks like someone just walked right out of his shoes.
Due to COVID and mass transit systems being shut down, bicycles became the mode of transportation in Paris.
We walked over to this street that is where our countdown calendar pic was taken. We didn’t have a red umbrella to sit in the street and replicate the photo but it’s a neat photo anyway.
Interesting gate.
Waterfall wall behind the produce in this market.
This is Rue Cler, one of my favorite streets in Paris. Love the flowers and produce all along the street.
Hôtel L’évêque (on Rue Cler) is where Kim and I stayed for two nights 21 years ago.
My little chicken. This pic is for Jo Anne.

We stopped to sit and have a mid-morning snack.
You guessed it, croissants and hot tea and cocoa. After all, this is the last day we’re here right?
A fromagerie (cheese shop). See the little Eiffel Tower cheese in front.

Such wonderful displays of the freshest produce imaginable. Yes Kody, it would be amazing to have access to this all the time.
Decided to have dessert before lunch today.
Coconut, passion fruit and lime basil gelato with a pistachio macaron. Yummm. Loved the lime basil!
Vanilla bean, raspberry and pistachio gelato with pistachio macaron.
We found a shop that has only sugar free chocolates with no artificial sweeteners. Some of their products are also gluten free and dairy free.
These amaretti biscuits are sans gluten, sugar and dairy.
On our way back to the hotel to pack up all our stuff.
Getting the dreaded COVID test. They were negative so we’re coming home 😁.
Jo Anne bought a teapot and lots of honey. The honey (mustard) pot is in the box in the back.
Used train tickets. We went through 15 train tickets each.
We had supper at this little cafe, Le Petit Cler
Our jug of water.
Le croque monsieur
As we walked back to our room after dinner we watched  a painting class for a bit. I thought this painting was really good.

Some of the quirky/funny/annoying things from our trip:
- at every landmark there were young girls posing for photos, fluffing their hair out, kicking a foot up, tilting their heads this way and that

- we learned that it is rude to put your bread on your plate while eating. It goes on the table beside your plate and if the table is not clean enough to lay your bread on, you shouldn’t be eating there

- when we got to cooking class, chef said if you have long hair, put it away 🤣

- the rude man on the Normandy tour unfastened and unzipped his pants when we sat down to eat lunch.

- people from India think Asian people are just everywhere, which was pretty funny because there were 5 Indians in our class and no Asians. 🤷‍♀️

- bicyclists and motorcyclists THINK they have the right of way on the roads and sidewalks. Watch out for them!

- favorite cooking class was the market and lunch class

- cooking classes where we learned the most were Le Cordon Bleu (but intense)

Totals for today:
24,847 steps
10.6 miles
O floors
Totals for the trip:
182,753 steps
79.5 miles
94 floors
And the sun sets over Paris, a final time for us.
Au revoir!
